South Otago Cross Country

CROSS COUNTRY!!!!!!!

On the 23rd  of August   I went  to  the South Otago Cross Country. It was half an hour  drive.  I had to sit  in the back  on the way. When  we got  there  I  was  nervous and a little bit excited. I  raced against  Hannah, Issy and Jess. Dad, Mum, and Riley came too.  My brothers made it in as well. My race was after the  year 5s and 6s. 3...2...1...GO zone! l was off like a rocket. I was in the   lead but then someone passed me. Then Issy passed me. I ran and ran, my feet were sore and I was puffed. At the end Hannah caught up to me but I sprinted so she couldn’t pass me. Hannah even tried to foot trip me, but I beat her. I got 8th Hannah got 9th. After the race we went to get licorice and went home. It was a fun day and I hope I can go to Clinton again next year.

As soon as I step into the mysterious Willy Wonka factory my heart  fills with butterflies.   I see Willy Wonka straight in front of me.  He’s wearing a huge purple  hat on top of his ginger hair. His suit is dark purple like  his purple shoes. When I go into the hallway I  smell  wonderful cream chocolate. Then we are going into the chocolate room I see sugar grass and lots more there is also a chocolate river.

Where in the World is Mrs May?

Write a creative story about where you imagine Mrs May to be today? Remember to use lots of details and descriptions! I can’t wait to read your stories.

I reckon Mrs May is at the Auckland Zoo feeding the lions and the hippopotamuses,   monkeys and birds with her friends. When she was feeding the lions they pounced on to the gat and she screamed Help help help. Then she went to see the hippopotamuses but they were nice to her that was a relief that they are. Chapter 2  The next day she went scuba diving in the sea her friends are sunbathing on the beach. After Mrs may was finished scuba diving chapter 3.  After that they went to the museum for the night first they went to a place in the museum cooled people of the world. In there you will see a real mummy wrapped up in bandages and in a open tomb. Then she had her dinner the next day she went back  to the hotel in Dunedin where she was staying the night. In the morning she went on a camel ride I reckon she got scared when  she got on it then she got some fish   and chips with her friends. CHapter 4 Then they went to the pool for a we bit. They went to a cafe in harst by the sea to watch the whales jump with the dolphins and the turtles having some fun. When she came back she gave us a souvenir to bring home. FROM ADDY!!!!!!!!.

When I woke up I heard a crackling sound. I went to go to see what it was, suddenly I saw a glowing, bright,

sparkly red flame. It looked like the flame was staring at me. I was so scared and I yelled “Fire! Fire! Fire!”

Then mum and Dad woke up. Then I got down and tried to crawl through the dark and gloomy smoke. Finally I got through it then the whole family was out. Then I called 111 then I said “There is a fire.” A few minutes later the fire was out and we went to stay in a huge hotel until our house was fixed.

Tree Planting at Waitahuna

Tree planting at Waitahuna.

Room7 and Room 4 went tree planting at Waitahuna on Nick’s farm on Tuesday.  First, we did the planting. A man called Glen showed us how to do planting properly and I followed the rules, and I planted them right. Then we went to electric fishing. Room 7 had caught a brown trout. We caught nothing, but when they were in the water, they saw another brown trout, and  they also saw an eel, but they didn't catch either of them. I was very sad, but at the end, I got to touch the eel, so the others touched the eel too. We got to see a lamprey. I  almost touched it but they are so fast, and they are like a worm.

Swimming at school

We have been learning to swim all term. I am learning to do one-two-three-breathe. I can do one length of the big pool. I like swimming because I see how long I can hold my breath for. I think I am a good swimmer. At school we go swimming every day so we can practice swimming so we get better every day. Some times after school my friends come to the pool. Usually we take Oscar and Charlotte. When we go to the pool with Dad he throws us up in the air then we go splat on the water. I like it when Dad comes because I get to show him what I can do .
